Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has issued a notice to Kenyans with regards to changes in how they will be purchasing power tokens going forward.
According to the new directive, starting this Thursday (September 1), Kenyans will not be able to purchase tokens through the usual third party vendors.
Prepaid channels will only be allowed to purchase tokens via M-Pesa PayBill 888880 while postpaid channels will make theirs through M-Pesa PayBill 888888 or through verified banks. New connections will be done through M-Pesa PayBill 888899.
Here is the statement:
“Please note that no other third party agent will be allowed to offer these services on behalf of KPLC. The company, will, therefore, not take liability for any transaction conducted,” said KPLC.
