The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has extended the application deadline for the recruitment of teachers advertised last week.
TSC had initially scheduled the online application deadline for December 16, 2022. According to the newly revised recruitment roadmap, qualified applicants have until Friday, December 23, 2022, to submit their online applications
“The Teachers Service Commission reviewed the roadmap for the Recruitment of Teachers and Teacher Interns. The deadline for submission of applications has been extended from 16th to 23rd December 2022,” TSC stated.
The reviewed roadmap states that the online application period will begin on Saturday, December 10, 2022, and end on Friday, December 23, 2022
According to an advertisement published by TSC earlier this month, there are over 35,500 teaching openings for both teachers and intern teachers.
In the ongoing exercise, TSC seeks to recruit 35,550 public primary and secondary school teachers. Out of the total, the TSC noted that 10,000 would be employed on permanent pensionable terms while the other 25,550 would be on an intern basis.
As for the interim teachers, 21,550 slots are reserved for junior secondary schools currently in the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) program while the remaining 4,000 will be dispatched to primary schools.
After completing the application process, the TSC will provide applicants’ lists. The County Selection Panel will make a shortlist and issue invitations for interviews between Thursday, December 29, 2022, and Thursday, January 5, 2023.
