A Liter Of Super Petrol Up By Ksh 2 In Latest Review

Super Petrol

Kenyans will have to pay more for Super Petrol after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) increased the price of super petrol by 2 shillings in the latest fuel review, while that of diesel and kerosene remains unchanged.

Petrol in Nairobi will retail at 179.30 shillings per liter for the one-month period lapsing April 14, diesel and kerosene will continue to retail at 162 and 145.94 shillings respectively.

The price of diesel has been cross-subsidized with that of super petrol while a subsidy of 23.49 shillings/liter has been maintained for Kerosene in order to cushion consumers from the otherwise high prices.

The prices are inclusive of the 8 percent Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2018, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2020, and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020.
