Former Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) Dr. Patrick Njoroge used to ask, “What is that beyond the app that can make a customer appreciate the services of any given bank?” According to him, many banks were competing to have apps with no unique services.

Among the most enterprising apps is the NCBA Now App. Closer interaction with this app will open a wide range of possibilities within and without the banking sector, as well as in entrepreneurship. It is ideal for both businesses and individuals.
The app offers a range of features designed to make banking more accessible and convenient for customers. One such feature is the ability to pay bills/ utilities directly through the app including; postpay bills for power, as well as make payments for popular services such as DSTV, Zuku, and Go TV.
In addition to bill payments, NCBA NOW also offers customers the ability to conduct foreign exchange transactions, top-up expressway services, and access investment banking services.

Before even I unpack the investment feature of NCBA Now, the bank is currently offering rewards to customers using NCBA Now. All you need to do is transact on the NCBA NOW mobile app or USSD code *488#.
Every time you transact via the app; deposit, withdraw, pay bills and utilities, or invest, you stand a chance to win various instant prizes daily, weekly, and monthly.

One distinct feature that makes NCBA Now tick all the boxes is its ability to allow users to invest in Unit Trusts. NCBA Bank Kenya was able to integrate their NCBA Unit Trust Funds into this app, making a first of that kind tied to a banking institution.
Unit Trust Funds are collective investment schemes regulated by the Capital Markets Authority that pool investors’ money into a single fund. The funds are then channeled into various professionally managed investments.

With this new capability, NCBA Bank customers will be able to enjoy services such as:
Register /Create a New Unit Trust Portfolio.
Link an existing Unit Trust Portfolio via the App.
Create a sub-portfolio account. This is an additional portfolio to an already existing one.
Initiate Top Transfers into either the NCBA Fixed Income Fund, the NCBA Dollar Fixed Income Fund, or the NCBA Equity Fund.
Issue Liquidation (withdrawal) requests from either the NCBA Fixed Income Fund, the NCBA Dollar Fixed Income Fund, or the NCBA Equity Fund.
View and download statements for either NCBA Fixed Income Fund, NCBA Dollar Fixed Income Fund, or NCBA Equity Fund.
View their current balances for either the NCBA Fixed Income Fund, the NCBA Dollar Fixed Income Fund, or the NCBA Equity Fund.
Joining the service is easy. For existing NCBA Now Mobile Banking users, simply update your App from the Playstore or Apple Store and start investing.

Below are the steps to be followed;
Visit either the playstore/AppStore to update the NCBA NOW app
Once updated log into the NCBA NOW app using your existing PIN.
Click on more options on the bottom right of the Landing page
Access the Invest Now option to begin your investment journey
If not registered on NCBA Now Mobile banking, kindly visit your nearest NCBA Branch to register for the service and download the App from the Playstore or AppleStore.
