NCBA Bank is pushing on with its agenda to plan at least 10 million trees by the year 2030. The assurance came as the whole country marked a Tree Planting Day, a holiday of its kind by the government aimed at increasing forest cover across the country.
NCBA hopes to achieve this through strategic partnerships with private actors and government, fully eliminate single-use plastic, ensure 100 percent waste recycling, green its supply chain, and invest significantly in deploying EV charging stations across the region.

To make this happen, NCBA Group has already committed to mobilizing 30 billion shillings for green and sustainable financing by 2030. This commitment makes it one of the largest investors in green financing across the country.
In June this year, NCBA Bank donated and planted over 20,000 trees in Bungoma County at various institutions to mark World Environment Day. The bank planted 4,000 trees at Kibabii University in an event graced by the Governor of Bungoma County H.E. Kenneth Lusaka, and H.E. Tessie Musalia, Spouse to the Prime Cabinet Secretary.
