The Kenyan Shilling
The Kenyan shilling has continued to strengthen against the three major global currencies; the US Dollar, the British Pound, and the Euro.
Against the US Dollar, the local currency strengthened by 0.64% to close at 131.87 (15.72% year-to-date). It also strengthened by 1.28% against the British Pound to close at 167.39 (16.22% year-to-date). At the same time, it strengthened by 1.26% against the Euro to close at 142.33 (18.10% year-to-date).

Kenyan Stock Market
Total equity turnover advanced by 1232.60% to close at USD 67.22 MN (KES 8.86 BN) compared to yesterday’s turnover of USD 5.04 MN (KES 669.44 MN).
NSE 20 rose by 0.15% to close at 1,724.18 while NASI eased by 1.04% to close at 113.09.
Foreign investors assumed a net buying position by accounting for 96.86% of total market purchases and 92.49% of total market sales.
