Ruto Picks Kithure Kindiki As Deputy President As Rigathi Remains In Hospital

Kindiki

A few hours after the Senate voted to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, President William Ruto has picked Interior CS Professor Kithure Kindiki as his deputy, to take over from Rigathi Gachagua.

Ruto has already forwarded the name to the National Assembly for approval.

The National Assembly has 60 days to approve the nominee but analysts says the name might be approved as this Friday afternoon.

The nomination means that Rigathi Gachagua is officially a former Deputy President. Rigathi is currently at Karen Hospital with serious chest pains.
