How Bolt Emergency Assist Can Save Your Life During Rides

Bolt

I use Bolt whenever I need a ride often. Bolt is affordable and readily available and their drivers are generally good at keeping time, unlike others. Recently, I realized that the Bolt App has several safety features that many people overlook. One of the features is the Emergency Assist feature.

Imagine for a second: you are heading home after a long day, and while the ride is smooth, you sense something isn’t quite right. Or maybe you just want to feel extra secure. That’s where Emergency Assist steps in. With a quick tap of the in-app Emergency Assist button, you can discreetly alert an emergency response team and notify Bolt’s dedicated Safety Team in real time.

To use emergency assist, all you need is to click on the green shield icon on the screen and then click on Emergency assist to contact the local authority. The relay of the signal to authorities is almost instant. At the same time, Bolt’s team also gets the signal and immediately makes a call.

Why this feature?

In the recent past, Kenya has had its fair share of challenges where those who intend to catch a ride run into the wrong hands, endangering their lives, sometimes even with their drivers. Say you and your driver get hijacked (God forbid), before panicking, fast but calmly press the Emergency Assist button. It might save your life.

One Kenyan leader once said that Usalama unaanza na wewe! (Security starts with you). The guy was right. Nobody is responsible for your security but you. Capitalize on the available features by Bolt like Emergency Assist for safer rides and security.
