Safaricom Foundation has today launched Ndoto Zetu Phase 7, deepening its impact and sustaining life-changing community projects in health, education, and economic empowerment across all 47 counties.
In this phase, the Foundation will invest KES 100 million, bringing the total investment to KES 500 million since the launch of the Ndoto Zetu initiative in 2019, thereby helping to address the challenges faced by thousands of communities.
The phase 7 initiative was launched at Eldoret Special School in Uasin Gishu County, where the Foundation donated a range of equipment, including knitting machines and materials, to support the school’s vocational unit.
The tools will empower learners to create and sell hand-crafted products, enhancing their economic independence and livelihood opportunities.
“With Ndoto Zetu, we are inspired by everyday Kenyans who dare to dream not just for themselves, but for their communities. As we launch Phase 7, we are walking this journey with you, because when your dream lifts others, it becomes our dream too,” said Dr. Peter Ndegwa, CEO, Safaricom PLC.
Since its launch, the Ndoto Zetu initiative has seen over 1,820 projects completed, directly improving the lives of more than 3 million people across all 47 counties. Last year alone, the Foundation handed over 400 projects, comprising 294 in education, 52 in health, and 54 in economic empowerment. More beneficiary stories
