For decades, insurance advisors have been at the heart of connecting people to financial protection. Yet, much of their time has been consumed by administrative work. Thanks to technology, the future of financial advice is becoming more human, not less, allowing advisors to focus on what matters most: their clients.
This was the message from Old Mutual today as it unveiled its latest step in reshaping insurance distribution across East Africa.
“We designed Anchor 360 with advisors at the heart of the experience. After a successful three-month pilot, we are confident that this platform gives our partners the tools to thrive in a competitive marketplace, while enabling clients to enjoy a more personalised and efficient experience,” Mr. Karenju said.
Unlike many digital tools that can be overwhelmed with new layers of complexity, Anchor 360 is designed to simplify the process by consolidating client information, portfolio management, and commissions tracking into one secure portal. For advisors, this means less duplication and more clarity. For customers, it promises a smoother, more transparent journey into financial solutions.
Industry observers note that the launch signals a broader shift in insurance distribution. While digital platforms are often framed as replacements for traditional channels, the app showcases the evolving role of advisors. The company insists technology is not replacing the personal touch, it’s amplifying it.
“For years, advisors have wrestled with the tension between building relationships and handling tedious administrative work such as onboarding, paperwork, and compliance checks. Anchor 360 changes that equation. Through this intermediary portal, we aim to reduce turnaround times, increase transparency, and create greater opportunities for advisors to focus on client engagements and building lasting relationships,” Martin added.
Through a secure Advisor Portal, users can easily register, log in, and manage their profiles. The platform features a streamlined onboarding process for new and existing intermediaries, supported by automated verification, document uploads, and customer support functions such as OTP authentication and live assistance.
By integrating features such as a recommendation engine and live assistance, the platform allows advisors to better match financial solutions to client profiles, reduce turnaround times, and focus on what customers value most: understanding and guidance. The platform also incorporates a commissions management tool that gives advisors full visibility into payments made and those payable across multiple currencies.
Anchor 360 is part of Old Mutual’s broader strategy to digitize financial services, empower advisors, and expand access to diversified financial solutions across East Africa.
