UBA Kenya has reaffirmed its commitment to driving intra-African trade by participating in the Afreximbank Digital Trade Workshop, where the Africa Trade Gateway (ATG) platform was officially unveiled.

Led by the CEO of UBA Kenya, Mary Mulili, the financial institution that has been at the forefront of empowering entrepreneurs through initiatives such as the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), reiterated the need to eliminate “trade boundaries” across the continent and grow the economy.

The ATG platform, designed to simplify trade and empower African businesses, aims to break down barriers that have long hindered cross-border commerce within the continent.

Mary Mulili emphasized the platform’s transformative impact:

“We recognize that Africa’s growth story is being written by our SMEs. The Africa Trade Gateway makes trade easier, faster, and more inclusive. By connecting Kenya to Africa and Africa to Kenya, we are opening doors for our entrepreneurs to reach new markets, access financing, and trade with confidence.”

She called on Kenyan entrepreneurs, especially women and the youth, to take advantage of the platform and bolster their businesses beyond the confined physical borders.

“The opportunities within Africa are immense, and you can take all of them. As UBA and with this partnership, we are willing to walk with you,” she added.

The ATG platform is not just a digital tool, but a bridge that delivers Kenya to Africa, and Africa to Kenya. Through the unique partnership with the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and Real Sources Africa, UBA Kenya is reinforcing its role as a key enabler of cross-border commerce and economic growth.

With its presence across 20 African countries and beyond, UBA continues to position itself as the bank for Africa, committed to connecting businesses, creating opportunities, and driving the continent’s economic future.
