On Thursday, at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE), BAT dominated trading activity, accounting for 23.4% of the day’s turnover. The counter’s price function inched upwards by 0.1% to KES 472.25.
Of the top traded banking stocks, NCBA and Co-op gained 9.5% and 0.4% to KES 98.25 and KES 27.15, respectively. Equity Group eased by 0.4% to KES 68.75.
At the same time, Safaricom gravitated to a position of relative stability, remaining unchanged at KES 29.60. ABSA Gold ETF declined by 0.9% to KES 5,810.00.
Kenya Airways was the day’s top gainer, rallying by 9.6% to KES 4.56. Standard Group shed 7.7% to KES 5.72, closing as the leading laggard.
Overall, the market closed the session on a bullish note with the NASI, N10, NSE 20, and NSE 25 gaining 0.5%, 0.1%, 0.6%, and 0.9%, respectively.
