Jubilee Health Insurance and global insurtech bolttech today announced a strategic partnership to transform how health insurance is accessed across East Africa by embedding protection into the everyday digital experiences people already use and trust.
As consumers increasingly bank, shop, borrow, pay and access services through digital platforms, health protection must evolve alongside them. This partnership reflects a growing shift away from traditional insurance distribution towards connected, ecosystem-driven models that make health protection easier to discover, purchase and access.
Through this collaboration, Jubilee Health will leverage bolttech’s API-driven technology platform to make its health insurance products available through the existing customer journeys of distribution partners. Rather than requiring customers to begin a separate insurance journey, businesses will be able to integrate access to Jubilee Health’s insurance solutions, starting with Hospicash as the initial offering, directly into their own digital platforms and services.
For example, a financial institution, retailer or digital platform can use the platform to offer Jubilee Health’s health protection directly within its app or website, enabling customers to access cover quickly and seamlessly as part of an experience they already know.
The platform will support end-to-end digital capabilities including product configuration, partner onboarding, policy purchase and administration, and claims management.
Under the partnership, Jubilee Health will provide the health insurance products and market expertise, while bolttech will provide the technology infrastructure that enables businesses to embed those products securely and efficiently into their customer ecosystems.
By integrating access to health protection into platforms customers already use, including those of lenders, retailers, digital marketplaces and service providers, the model removes friction, broadens distribution, simplifies enrolment and enables health protection to reach more people at scale.
Njeri Jomo, Chief Executive Officer of Jubilee Health Insurance, said the partnership represents a significant step towards making healthcare protection more accessible. “Healthcare protection should be available where people already live, work and transact. Through this partnership, we are making it easier for customers to access relevant and affordable health insurance through platforms they already trust. This enables us to scale faster, innovate smarter, and most importantly, extend health protection to communities that have historically been underserved. We believe health protection should meet customers where they already are.”
For participating businesses, the partnership provides a secure and efficient way to to enhance their customer proposition by integrating health protection into existing products and services. For customers, it creates a simpler route to discovering, purchasing and managing health cover through familiar digital channels.
The initiative will initially focus on connected ecosystems across East Africa, supporting Jubilee Health’s broader strategy of using digital enablement, strategic partnerships and scalable distribution models to improve access to healthcare across the region.
Bente Krogmann, General Manager, Africa, bolttech, added:
“ Africa continues to be an important growth region for bolttech, with significant opportunity to expand access to insurance through digital, partnership-led models. Our partnership with Jubilee Health brings together bolttech’s global technology capabilities and Jubilee Health’s strong health insurance expertise to create new distribution pathways. Together, we are building infrastructure to help Jubilee Health connect with distributors and customers more efficiently and at scale.”
By integrating access to health insurance products into partner platforms, Jubilee Health can provide cover for customers at the point of need, strengthen partner value propositions, and support more inclusive access to financial and health protection.
The collaboration reinforces Jubilee Health’s broader innovation strategy centred on digital enablement, ecosystem partnerships and scalable models that improve healthcare access across the region. Ultimately, it reflects a shared ambition to connect more people to protection.
