The Kenya China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCCI) has donated a fleet of specialized beds to the Kenya Women and Children Wellness Centre in Nairobi, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility and community upliftment in Kenya.
The handover ceremony, led by KCCCI Chairman Mr. Tim Chen, brought together representatives from the Chinese business community, local administrators, and staff. The initiative aims to improve bed capacity and dignity for vulnerable women and children receiving medical care and emergency shelter at the facility.
Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Tim Chen emphasized that the Chamber’s vision encompasses both economic growth and social wellbeing.
“True partnership goes beyond economic trade; it is rooted in compassion and mutual support. As an old Chinese wisdom reminds us, ‘Giving roses to others leaves a lingering fragrance in your own hands.’ By supporting the Kenya Women and Children Wellness Centre, we are investing in the health, dignity, and future of Kenyan families,” said Mr. Chen.
The donation forms part of KCCCI’s broader CSR footprint, which includes support for local schools, disaster relief, and youth empowerment initiatives across the country. KCCCI reaffirmed its dedication to deepening people-to-people relations and working alongside local organizations to address pressing social needs.
Accepting the donation, representatives of the Centre expressed gratitude to the Chamber for its timely support, noting that the beds will significantly enhance comfort and care for mothers and children in distress.
