Britam top loser after 4.00 percent decline

The NSE 20 and NASI index declined by 28.18 points and 0.72 points respectively to close the day at 5,073.86 and 172.96.

Umeme was the top gainer of the day, surging up by 8.88 percent to close at KES 19.00, Britam was the top loser of the day, declining by 4.00 percent to close the day at KES 22.25.

The volume of shares traded went up by 55.85 percent to close at 18.54mn, total turnover also rose by 59.02 percent to close at KES 676.10mn. KCB Bank was the overall market mover with a turnover of KES 229.44mn representing 66.06 percent of total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 56.26 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 62.40 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI dropped by 2.03 percent to close at 2,052.19 while USE LSI rose by 0.04 percent to close at 324.26. A total of 79,449 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 5.93mn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI and RSE RSI remained constant to close at 232.99 and 137.16 respectively. Total number of shares traded today was 4.50mn shares

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI declined by 1.75 percent and 0.07 percent respectively to close the day at 2,639.85 and 4,681.90. National Microfinance Bank was the top gainer of the day gaining 0.57 percent to close at TZS 3,520 .Swissport Tanzania was the top loser declining by 2.91 percent to close the day at TZS 6,000.00 Total volumes were recorded at 52,807 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 98.76mn.
