Kenyan Stock Market
The NSE 20 Index lost 2.00 points to close at 5,126.02 while the NASI Index gained 0.29 points to close at 171.07. E.A Portland was the highest gainer, gaining 9.17 percent on its share price to close at KES 59.00. Equity Group was the top loser of the day declining by 3.66 percent to close at KES 46.00.

The total volume of shares traded closed at 11.43mn as total turnover closed at KES 401.20mn depicting a decline of 42.07 percent. The top mover was Equity Group with a turnover of KES 88.57mn, representing 22.08 percent of the day’s total market turnover.

Foreign buys closed at 46.41 percent of total turnover while foreign sales closed at 44.26 percent of turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI gained 0.87 percent to close at 2,079.30 while USE LSI remained constant to close at 324.14. A total of 678,585mn shares were traded indicating a decrease of 29.31 percent from yesterdays, 959,887mn shares. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 147.05mn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI and RSE RSI remained constant to close at 137.14 and 232.99 respectively. Total number of shares traded 4.54mn representing a turnover of TZS 1.35bn.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI dropped by 0.36 percent and 1.59 percent to close at 2728.57 and 4,745.71. African Barrick Gold was the highest gainer of the day shoving up by 0.7 percent to close at
TZS 7650.00. Swissport Tanzania declined by 5.50 percent to close the day at TZS 5,850 to be the highest loser of the day. Total volumes were recorded at 459,531 shares as Total turnover closed at TZS 5.89 bn.
