The NSE 20 and NASI index rose by 6.11 points and 0.65 points respectively to close at 5,061.11 and 172.35. The highest market gainer of the day was Car and General edging up by 7.14 percent to close at KES 48.75, Flame Tree on the other hand emerged as the top loser, declining by 9.04 percent to close the day at KES 8.55.
The volume of shares traded edged up by 183.56 percent to close at 34.96mn, total turnover also rose by 79.81 percent to close at KES 858.94mn. Safaricom was the overall market mover with a turnover of KES 435.90mn representing 50.74 percent of total market turnover.
Foreign buys stood at 27.69 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 54.49 percent of total turnover
