Crown Berger gains 9.57 percent to become highest market gainer of the day

The NSE 20 and NASI index shrank by 16.57 points and 0.45 points respectively to close at 5,083.94 and 173.49. The highest market gainer of the day was Crown Berger gaining 9.57 percent to close at KES 126.00, Atlas emerged as the top loser, shedding 6.54 percent to close the day at KES 10.00.

The volume of shares traded rose by 26.07 percent to close at 25.73mn, total turnover also edged up by 51.96 percent to close at KES 846.99mn. KCB bank was the overall market mover with a turnover of KES 321.22mn representing 36.86 percent of total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 64.03 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 46.46 percent of total turnover

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI went up by 0.42 percent to close at 2,038.68 while the USE LSI declined by 0.10 percent to close at 325.62. A total of 38,888 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 13.92mn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI and RSE RSI remained constant to close at 229.04 and 136.68 respectively. Total number of shares traded today was 3.05mn shares. Total turnover come to a close of 901.01mn.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI dropped by 0.85 percent and 0.93 percent respectively to close at 2,712.58 and 4,727.76. Tanzania Cement Company was the top gainer of the day gaining 5.3 percent to close at TZS 4,000.African Barrick Gold and Tanzania Portland Cement was the top loser declining by 1.07 percent each to close at 8,330.00 and 3,710.Total volumes were recorded at 13.59mn shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 7.40bn.
