Eveready surges 8 percent to become day’s top gainer

The NSE 20 and NASI index declined by 48.39 points and 0.25 points to close at 4,932.32 and 167.48.

Eveready surged 8.33 percent to close at KES 4.55 to become today’s top gainer on the other hand Athi River emerged the top loser, declining by 5.13 percent to close the day at KES 74.00.

The volume of shares traded declined by 55.40 percent to close at 16.93mn, total turnover shed off 49.36 percent to close at KES 960.25mn.

Diamond Trust Bank was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 353.15mn representing 36.78 percent of total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 67.85 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 73.93 percent of total turnover

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI and USE LSI rose by 0.50 percent and 0.10 percent respectively to close at 1,927.24 and 325.72. A total of 5.69mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close
of UGX 270.75mn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI and RSE RSI gained constant to close at 224.84 and 136.18. Total number of shares traded today was 11,500 shares. Total turnover come to a close of 4.83mn.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI gained 1.81 percent and 0.01 Percent respectively close at 2,791.05 and 4,703.88. African Barrick Gold was the top gainer of the day gaining 2.24 percent to close at TZS 9,600.Total volumes were recorded at 1.06mn shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 14.70bn.
