Pan Africa declines by 22.80 percent to emerge top loser of the day.

The NSE 20 declined by 0.77 points to close at 4,979.71 while NASI index went up by 0.55 points to close at 167.82. The highest market gainer was E.A Portland Cement gaining 9.26 percent to close at KES 59.00, Pan Africa emerged the top loser, declining by 22.80 percent to close the day at KES 96.50.

The volume of shares traded declined by 10.23 percent to close at 35.68mn, total turnover on the other hand rose by 14.12 percent to close at KES 1,335.45mn. Equity Group was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 558.98mn representing 41.86 percent of total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 75.82 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 55.22 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI declined by 0.72 percent to close at 1,906.80 while the USE LSI remained constant to close at 325.63. A total of 319,506 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 79.99mn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI and RSE RSI gained by 0.36 percent and 0.07 percent respectively to close at 226.18 and 136.34. Total number of shares traded today was 24,400 shares. Total turnover come to a close of 7.83mn.

Tanzania: The DSEI went up by 0.77 percent to close at 2,725.81 while DSEI TSI declined by 0.04 percent to close at 4,703.54. African Barrick Gold was the top gainer of the day gaining 6.2 percent to close at TZS 9,290. Tanga Cement Company was the top loser declining by 1.55 percent to close at3, 810.00 Total volumes were recorded at 883,783 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 1.39bn.
