BAT Kenya largest mover of the day

The NSE 20 and NASI index rose by 17.20 points and 0.14 points to close at 4,790.42 and 163.02. Limuru Tea was the highest market gainer edging up by 8.74 percent to close the day at KES 1,033.00. E.A. Portland emerged the top loser, declining by 3.57 percent to close the day at KES 54.00.

The volume of shares traded dropped by 58.68 percent to close at 7.80mn.Total turnover gained by 19.97 percent to close at KES 619.62mn. BAT Kenya was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 414.36mn representing 66.87 percent of total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 15.17 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 19.19 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI declined by 0.73 percent to close at 1,984.46 while USE LSI remained constant to close at 324.36. A total of 200,601 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 57.74mn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI remained constant to close at 222.09 and 135.85 respectively. Total number of shares traded today was 5.65mn shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF 1.68bn.

Tanzania: The DSEI dropped by 0.17 percent to close at 2,833.80 while DSE TSI edged up by 0.01 percent to close at 4,769.94. TOL Gasses wasthe top gainer of the day, gaining 3.33 percent to close at TZS 620.00. Tanga Cement Company was the top loser of the day declining by 0.06 percent to close at TZS 3,820.00. Total volumes were recorded at 216,431 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 1.30bn.
