Liberty Holdings declines by 5.15 percent to emerge top loser

The NSE 20 edged up 5.84 points to settle at 4,796.26 while NASI declined 0.20 points to close at 162.82. B.O.C gained the most in the market edging up by 5.38 percent to close the day at KES 137.00. Liberty Holdings emerged the top loser, declining by 5.15 percent to close the day at KES 23.00.

The volume of shares traded rose by 599.39 percent to close at 54.56mn.Total turnover gained 130.08 percent to close at KES 1,425.63mn. Equity Group was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 525.83mn representing 36.88 percent of total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 42.71 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 52.92 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI and LSI edged up by 0.71 percent and 0.04 percent respectively to close at 1,998.59 and 324.50. A total of 3.08mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 570.78mn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI and RSI dropped by 0.18 percent and 0.03 percent to close at 221.68 and 135.81 respectively. Total number of shares traded today was 5.50mn shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF 1.62bn.

Tanzania: The DSEI and TSI edged up by 0.16 percent and 0.80 percent respectively to close at 2,838.44 and 4,808.13. Swissport Tanzania was the top gainer of the day, gaining 2.94 percent to close at TZS 7,000.00. Dar es Salaam Community Bank was the top loser of the day declining by 1.43 percent to close at TZS 690.00.

Total volumes were recorded at 78,524 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 211.60mn.
