Safaricom, largest mover of the day

The NSE 20 rose by 0.28 points to close at 4744.95 while the NASI index gained 0.05 points to close at 162.70. Standard Chartered gained 4.21 percent to close the day at KES 297.00 to become today’s top gainer. Pan Africa emerged the top loser, declining by 4.40 percent to close the day at KES 76.00.

The volume of shares traded rose by 30.77 percent to close at 26.12mn.Total turnover rose by 18.31 percent to close at KES 775.75mn. Safaricom was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 230.34mn representing 29.69 percent of total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 55.99 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 58.67 percent of total turnover
