East African Breweries largest mover of the day

Kenyan Stock Market

The NSE 20 and NASI index dropped 47.65 points and 1.20 points respectively to settle at 4,858.42 and 163.21. Kapchorua Tea was the highest market gainer edging up by 11.54 percent to close the day at KES 145.00. Williamson Tea emerged the top loser, declining by 11.59 percent to close the day at KES 366.00.

The volume of shares traded declined 83.25 percent to close at 30.28mn.Total turnover dipped by 86.20 percent to close at KES 1,232.27mn. East African Breweries was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 7,443.86mn representing 72.38 percent of total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 77.73 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 82.84 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI went up 0.23 percent to close at 2,000.20 while USE LSI declined 0.08 percent to at 324.03. A total of 1.46mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 47.63mn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI and RSI remained constant to close at 220.07 and 135.62 respectively. Total number of shares traded today was 16,800 shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF 5.29mn.

Tanzania: The DSEI declined 2.18 percent to close at 2,,667.39 while DSE TSI rose 0.12 percent to close at 4,689.63. CRDB Bank went up 2.50 percent to close at TZS 410.00 .Africa Barrick Gold was the top loser of the day declining by 3.96 percent to close at TZS 9,220.00. Total volumes were recorded at 5.24mn shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 16.81bn.
