Kopo Kopo And Pigiame in New Partnership

BY · October 22, 2015 07:10 am

PigiaMe (www.pigiame.co.ke) and Kopo Kopo (www.kopokopo.co.ke) announced a partnership to actively support their small and medium enterprise clients. PigiaMe is Kenya’s Quality Classifieds and offers online window shops for merchants, and Kopo Kopo Kenya is Kenya’s largest independent merchant network.

In today’s digitally-connected world, an increasing number of transactions are now made online or via mobile payment. For example, 70% of all electronic transactions are made through M-Pesa, notably more than 40% of the Kenya’s Gross Domestic Product.

Both Kopo Kopo and PigiaMe see the benefits: Merchants are realizing the new opportunities, reaching their clients at lower cost, keeping customers informed through SMS campaigns, targeting specific audience groups and readily accessing credit. Buyers realize the ease of use and are increasingly aware of the importance of safety of their transactions.
According to Lelian Net, G.M. Kopo Kopo, the partnership aims at collaborating to give their existing clients more reach and benefiting from better conditions, such as more favorable rates.
“Both platforms are designed to connect people, whether individuals or merchants. In the end our customers all want the same: Trading quality, safely and easily. To increase the safety of transactions and their ease of use is what we now partnered for” says Clemens Weitz, Head of Classifieds of Ringier, PigiaMe’s parent company.
The move of the two players is significant, not only because it is a partnership between two key players in Kenya’s tech scene. It also underlines the growing opportunity of leveraging data to help businesses grow and prosper. Thanks to this partnership, Kenyan businesses will have even greater access to secure transactions, reduced operating costs, and increased brand recog
