Technology Leaders Pledge to Support Government Efforts to Fight Cyber Crime

Leaders in the technology space have pledged to support the county and regional assemblies deal with increased cases of cyber-crime in a bid to protect attacks on government systems.

Ms Christine Tatuo, Techno Brain Group County Director led Microsoft East Africa, Oracle and Cisco organized a training session to equip them with knowledge on various aspects of cyber security, access control management on different emerging security issues.

Over 250 sergeants at arms, drawn from the National Parliament, The Senate, County Assemblies, Regional parliaments and the East African Legislative Assembly benefited from the consortium that took place at the Techno Brain Group’s global headquarters in Nairobi.

The session was the part of an industry visit that was organized during the first National Conference of Sergeant at Arms and it was officiated by Hon Major General, Joseph NKaissery, and the cabinet secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government.

Speaking during the industry session, Ms Tatuo lauded the necessity of the conference, to the development of framework for best practices for sergeant-at-arms, linking their roles to responding to emerging security issues, especially cyber security.

“The purpose of this visit to Techno Brain is to understand security measures that they can adopt, to deal with the modern threats. This will enable the sergeant-at-arms to know how they can secure physical, infrastructure and cyber space.” She added.

The law requires that the senate and county assemblies provides citizens with information through their website, including opportunities for citizen’s participation in drafting of bills.
