The Role of LSK in Creating a Conducive Business Environment

Businesses do not operate in a vacuum and most of time there encounter hiccups here and there. Apart from facing competitions, business are often embroiled in conflicts such as concerning the ownership that often escalate into legal battles.

When such matters land in court, the parties concerned usually seek the help of a strong and competitive legal team that tries as much as possible, to convince the presiding judge beyond any reasonable doubt on the direction to which the wind of justice has to blow.

This strong and competitive legal team is made up of lawyers who are members of the Law Society of Kenya, (LSK). The Law Society of Kenya, therefore, is a very key body in ensuring that there is a fair representation of persons in court, upholding of justice as well as championing for equal rights to all persons in the country.

Lawyers have been known, over the years, to be freedom fighters in various fields. The coming of the second liberation in this country came as a result of a resilient fight for democracy masterminded by some great lawyers. Just as justice cannot be complete without lawyers so is business.

Lawyers have to be honest, humble, hardworking and great defenders of justice. Good lawyers are voices to those considered voiceless. They have to be the truth tellers of a silent witness who is dead.

To ensure all these are achieved, able leadership is key. LSK needs leaders of integrity and honor and who will ensure that the welfares of the members are catered for so that they can diligently follow the right course of justice.

Ekaterina Handa who is seeking the position of LSK Council Member, Nairobi Branch is out to ensure that the elected council works and open doors of opportunities to all the esteemed members, rebuild the LSK’s reputation of professionalism, probity as well as inclusivity.
