Trans Nzoia County is one of the counties in the country that contributes highly in grain production, together with its neighboring Uasin Gishu County. Most of the Maize consumed in the country is produced in this county.

Despite the high production rate of the grain, farmers face a lot of challenges when it comes to storage facilities for their yields and lack of ready market. Most of them still depend on the traditional ways of storage which at most times leads to infestation of the grain by pests.

Investing on cereals and dairy produce will be of great impact not only to the people of Trans Nzoia but also to the country at large. First of all, it will lead to creation of job opportunities in the county, increase in the production rate of the cereals and also ready market for farmers.

The investment forum attracted over 3,000 investors from Africa, Europe and Asia. Apart from maize processing, some other benefits will include production of animal feeds from maize and also extraction of corn oil, making the county a haven for various investment opportunities from a single type of cereal.
