Entrepreneurs in emerging economies have been said to be innovative and in positions of scaling their business ideas on higher levels only if they will be mentored through the key steps on achieving says Prof.Noah Midamba, Vice Chancellor of KCA University at the BizNairobi workshop organized by Sinapis.
Prof. Midamba notes that the Kenyan system of education needs to be changed from teaching to students being engaged in practical work so that they can be equipped with knowledge for theory and practical work.
He emphasised that for an entrepreneur to succeed, he need to possess qualities that include dreaming, decision-making ability, discipline, desire and determination to sharpen the entrepreneurial skills for job creation.
Chief Executive Officer of Bidco Africa, Vimal Shah, said that Entrepreneurship is about confidence and having a purpose which is essential in the satisfaction of customers.
“You must have an intent that espouses integrity, purpose and leadership,” said Mr. Shah.
On emerging trends, Vimal said, “In today’s world, the best way to reach out to your customers and potential ones is through digital platforms and innovation is integral if it’s done in small bits every day.”
Bitange Ndemo, ICT Champion at KCA University, is of the view that, “Growing the capacity of entrepreneurs is key to a sustainable eco-system in business.”
