Business people in Nairobi are worried about their business as more demonstrations are expected today Monday.
Coalition for Reforms and Democracy, CORD, has been on the streets on Nairobi for the last three weeks calling for the disbanding of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
Last Monday,
things got out of hand when the police engaged demonstrators in a teargas throwing as well as club hitting of demonstrators. Police were blamed for using too much force to disband the demonstrators and people are wondering whether the same will happen today.
Business people were left counting loses on last Monday as some demonstrators took the opportunity to loot and rob from the unsuspecting business people as well as pedestrians.
The government has maintained its stand that it will not discuss anything with the opposition concerning the IEBC.
The opposition on the other hand has maintained that demonstrations will go on every Monday as long as the IEBC commissioners will remain in office.
Several people were injured last Monday and the strong stands that the politicians from the political divides are holding is worrying.
The Kenyan economy has been on a negative trend and with the ongoing demonstrations, foreign investors are closely watching the country.
