Eveready East Africa Ltd emerged as the top gainer of the day. The company gained 8.33 percent at the price of 2.60 shillings per share. The second gainer slot fell on Pan African Insurance Holdings Ltd which gained 6.88 percent at the price of 42.75 shillings per share. Car and General (K) Ltd, Longhorn Kenya Ltd and Standard Chartered Bank Ltd gained 5.88, 5.38 and 4.06 percent respectively.

Uchumi Supermarket Ltd was the top loser of the day. The troubled retailer posted a loss of 8.11 percent at the price of 3.40 shillings per share. Home Africa Ltd followed closely with 6.67 percent at the price of 1.40 shillings per share. Eaagads Ltd, Carbacid Investments Ltd and Express Ltd lost 6.12, 5.66 and 5.41 percent respectively.

The Kenyan Shilling strengthened against the US Dollar by 1.45 percent year-to-date strengthened 3.85 percent year-to-date against the Sterling Pound while it weakened against the Euro by 2.23 percent year-to-date.
Market turnover at the bourse recorded 100.8 percent increase to KES 636.71 million (USD 6.31mn) from yesterday’s trading.
The NSE 20 index and NASI index gained 0.30 percent and 0.30 percent respectively to close at 3,878.42 and 145.74. Foreign investors assumed a net buying position by accounting for 76.7 percent of total market purchases and 61.7 percent of total market sales.
The RSE RSI and RSE ALSI of Rwanda remained constant to close at 145.11 and 130.39 while the USE ALSI of Uganda lost 1.45 percent to close at 1,739.52 while USE LSI gained 0.91 percent to close at 371.58.
