Making Winners and Building the Economy the Lottery Way

BY Juma · June 7, 2016 11:06 am

Kenya is among the most heavily populated East African countries with efforts to minimize population eruption being put in place by the government of the day.

The country has a population of more than 40 million people. More than 60 percent of this population is made up of the youth. 80 percent of these youth in Kenya are unemployed putting much pressure on the few available resources.

As the population continues to grow in Kenya, so is the pressure on such limited social amenities as health, sports and education.

A nation with a strong health foundation is a healthy nation and, therefore, an economically viable nation.

Education is key to the economic development of a given nation. A nation that overlooks this fact, overlooks the survival of current and subsequently, future generations and is therefore, like a tree without the roots.

Despite the fact that the nation continues to get global recognition for the immense sporting talent displayed, more talent still goes unnoticed in most parts of the country. There are no people or institutions to help cultivate and mould these talents.

Kenya, therefore, needs a savior who will help her on this treacherous journey of creating employment for the youth, bettering the ailing health sector in the country as well as helping in the process of nurturing, cultivating and moulding of talents.

There is no better savior than a strong and well managed lottery. A lottery is the only venture that will help take Kenya to the next level both socially and economically.

A strong lottery will see them partner with the health sector as well as with communities to build and enhance new and existing health facilities across the country. Most health facilities are in dilapidated condition across the country majorly due to inadequate financing. a lottery is close to charity, giving back to the society, giving with such a big heart of not expecting back.

Despite a lot of frantic efforts by the government to enhance the education sector, it is still ailing. Education facilities, especially in public institutions are in a pathetic state. Having lottery companies will help support the education sector through payment of taxes, a huge portion of which is allocated to education improvement. Other CSR activities performed by those companies will help those communities that benefit from such activities, something that should be embraced without question.

The United States of America goes down on record as being a nation with one of the best lottery system in the world. The lottery movement from the United States of America has spilled over to other continents like Africa and most people, especially students have benefited from them. Some scholarships offered in other countries for African students are from lottery companies and the society has greatly changed as a result of these activities.

Most lotteries companies from the USA have also been on the forefront in the war toward the eradication of poverty and diseases in Africa. Kenya needs such institutions, institutions that will be purely “homemade” and ready to serve and help Kenyans.

With a strong lottery system that encourages the establishment of lottery companies, the sector will develop and thus help improve other societal sectors like health and education. The lives of people will greatly improve and change.
