CMC Motors Appoints Kenyan Managing Director

CMC Motors Holding Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Wanjohi Kangangi, as CMC Motors, Managing Director.

The 47-year old alumni of Alliance High School is an accomplished business leader, with strong general management experience of over 20 years in automotive industry and a brief stint in banking. His expertise spans strategy development, sales and marketing, operational management, and change and transformation management.

Under the company structure, Mr Kangangi will work closely with the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Mark Kass.

CMC Motors Holding Group CEO, Mark Kass said, “We are delighted to have a leader of Mr Kangangi’s calibre and experience come on board. The search was long and rigorous to get to the right candidate but we are very pleased with the outcome. I can assure you that anybody out there saying you can’t get the right business leaders from amongst 45 million Kenyans simply doesn’t know what he is talking about.”

Mr Kangangi was previously the Hino General Manager, Toyota Kenya where he led the team that launched Hino in Kenya. Prior to that he worked for 16 years at General Motors East Africa in various capacities including Logistics, Imports, Production Control, Marketing and Customer Relations, Sales and Aftersales. His tenure in General Motors included eighteen-month assignment in General Motors South Africa.

Mr Kangangi holds a Masters degree in Engineering and Management from Oxford University. He is married with 2 children and an avid golfer.
