Sorghum Retail Highest in Malindi

The highest market price for a 90kg bag of sorghum is Sh.6,000 and it is in Malindi, while the same quantity is being retailed at Sh.2,700 in Mombasa and Nakuru respectively. This is to mean that the difference between the highest and the lowest price is Sh.3,300.

On the other hand, Dry maize is being retailed at Sh.3,600 for a 90kg bag in Busia while in Nairobi, the cereal is abit cheat since it is being sold at Sh.2,700. The table below shows the market price for different cereals in the market across the country

Groundnuts, Green grams and Njahi are the most are foods in the legumes group that seem to have the highest market price as compared to others like those in the bean family. A 90kg bag of green grams is being retailed at Sh.13,500 in Eldoret, and Sh.10,000 in Malindi and Kisumu respectively.

On the other hand, a 90kg bag of groundnuts is being sold at Sh.13,750 in Mombasa while the same quantity goes at Sh. 14,800 in Malindi. Here is the summary of the same on other commodities in the market
