Green Grams Retailing Highest in Eldoret

Today being the beginning of a new month and a new week, the cereal market remained unchanged with its market prices on commodities such as dry maize, green maize, finger millet and sorghum. Compared to last week, a 90kg bag of dry maize remains to trade at Sh 2,700 in Nairobi, Sh 2,900 in Mombasa. Sh 3,200 in Kisumu and Sh 2,800 in Nakuru. This is the same case with other cereals in the market across the country. Here is a summary of the current market prices:

Roots lovers have also nit been left behind as there is plenty of potato varieties and cassava in the market. A 50kg bag of red irish potatoes is being retailed at Sh. 3,500 in Kisumu where it is the highest market price as compared to other towns. The same quantity is being sold at Sh.1,400 in Kitale thus being the lowest market price in the country. A 50kg bag of Fresh Cassava on the other hand is being sold as follows in different town: Sh.2,300 in Mombasa and Nakuru respectively, Sh.2,000 in Nairobi and Eldoret respectively, Sh.2,500 in Kitale and Sh.1,800 in Kisumu.

Njahi, Green Grams and Groundnuts are on the same trend as the cereal market where prices are not changing. A 110kg bag of groundnuts retails at Sh.12.500 in Nairobi and Kisumu respectively, Sh.11,700 in Nakuru and Eldoret respectively, Sh.13,200 in Kitale and Sh.13,750 in Mombasa.
