Passion Fruits Retailing Highest in Mombasa

The market price for a 64kg bag of tomatoes in Loitoktok is Sh.1,500, the lowest price compared to prices in other towns as in Eldoret, the same quantity goes for Sh.5,600, Sh.4,400 in Mombasa , Sh.4,200 in Nairobi and Sh.4,000 in Kitale and Kisumu.

Kale (sukuma) on the other hand also have varied market prices from town to town as a 50kg bag is going for Sh.3,000 in Mombasa, which is currently the highest market price and Sh.800 in Loitoktok. In Kitale, the vegetable delicacy is going at Sh.1,800, Sh.1,400 in Eldoret, Sh.1,600 in Nairobi and Sh.2,000 in Kisumu.

A 142kg bag of spring onions is being retailed at Sh.2,600 in Nairobi, Sh.3,550 in Mombasa, Sh.2,400 n Kisumu, Sh.1,200 in Nakuru, Sh.1,400 in Eldoret and Sh.3,000 in Kitale.

The market seems to be going through a scarcity of passion fruits as the prices are a bit on the high side. A 57kg bag is retailing at Sh.5,500 in Mombasa, Sh.5,000 in Nakuru, Sh.5,130 in Nairobi and Sh.4,400 in Kitale.
