Tomato Prices Highest in Eldoret and Lowest in Kitui

A 64-kilogram bag of tomatoes was retailing highest in Eldoret where it went at 5,600 shillings and lowest in Kitui at 1,300 shillings.

Cabbages on the other hand were being sold at the price of 2,400 shillings for a 126-kilogram bag in Mombasa, 1,800 shillings in Kitui, 1,600 shillings in Nairobi, 1,575 shillings in Malindi and 1,200 shillings in Nakuru, Kisumu, Malindi and Eldoret respectively.

Spring and Dry onions are also available in the market though with different weights and prices. A 142-kilogram bag of Spring onions was sold at 3,600 shillings in Mombasa. 2,500 shillings in Nairobi and Kisumu and 1,200 shillings in Nakuru and Eldoret respectively.

Oranges are in plenty in the market as they have just been harvested and for this reason, a 93 kilograms’ bag was being sold at 4,800 shillings in Nakuru and Eldoret respectively. 4,200 shillings in Nairobi and 4,000 shillings in Kisii and Malindi.
