Tomatoes Retailing Highest in Eldoret and Lowest in Nakuru

A 64 kilogram bag of tomatoes is currently retailing highest in Eldoret and lowest in Nakuru. The Highest market price stands at 5,600 shillings, while the lowest is at 2,000 shillings. Other towns are selling the same quantity as follows; 4,500 shilling in Nairobi and 4,000 shillings in Mombasa, Kitale and Kisumu respectively.

On the other hand, a 126 kilogram of cabbages is being sold as follows: 1,400  shillings in Nairobi, 2,700 shillings in Mombasa, 1,200 shillings in Kisumu and Nakuru, 1,000 in Eldoret and 1,800 shillings in Kitale. The difference between the highest and the lowest market price is 1,800 shillings.

With plenty of rainfall across the country, fruits have flooded the markets albeit with different prices depending on supply. A 57 kilogram bag of passion fruit is retailing as follows: 4,800 in Nairobi, 7,000 shillings in Mombasa, 3,000 shillings in Kisumu, 5,000 shillings in Nakuru, 2,850 shillings in Eldoret and 3,300 shillings in Kitale.

A 54 kilogram of pawpaw  is retailing highest in Kitale where it was going at 2,750 shillings and lowest in Mombasa where it was being sold at 1,000 shillings. One can also get oranges, avocado and a variety of mango types in the market. Here is a summary of the same:
