Finger Millet Retails Highest in Malindi and Lowest in Nakuru

Finger millet is retailing highest in Malindi at a market price of 8,100 for every 90-kilograms bag and lowest in Nairobi and Nakuru respectively at 5,800 shillings for the same quantity. Other towns were selling the cereal as follows: 6,750 shillings in Mombasa, 6,300 shillings in Eldoret and 6,800 shillings in Kisumu.

Dry maize on the other hand is going with a market price of 3,000 shillings for a 90-kilogram bag in Mombasa and Malindi. The same is retailing at 2,600 shillings in Eldoret, 2,500 shillings in Nakuru, 2,800 shillings in Nairobi and Kisumu has the highest market price of 3,600 shillings.

Groundnuts are plenty in the market but despite that fact, the market prices are high as compared to other commodities. A 110-kilogram bag in is being sold for mot less than 11,000 shillings in all towns across the country, and it is as follows: 11,000 shillings in Malindi, 11,200 shillings in Kisumu, 11,700 shillings in Eldoret, 12,200 shillings in Nakuru, 12,400 shillings in Nairobi and 15,400 shillings in Mombasa.

A variety of bean types are also available that include Canadian beans, Rosecoco beans and Mwitemania beans. Njahi is being sold as follows for a 90-kilogram bag: 9,000 shillings in Nairobi and Mombasa, 8,000 shillings in Nakuru, 9,200 shillings in Kisumu, 10,000 shillings in Malindi and 13,500 shillings in Eldoret.
