Safaricom Ltd (NSE: SCOM) was the most actively traded stock on Tuesday accounting for 52.94 percent of the total market value traded activity. Equity Group Ltd (NSE: EQTY) was the second most actively traded counter, accounting for 16.42 percent of the total market turnover.

Britam Holdings Ltd (NSE: BRIT) emerged as the top gaining counters, advancing 26.00 percent to close the day at 12.60 shillings. Uchumi Supermarket Ltd (NSE: UCHM) came second gaining 9.09 percent to close the day at 18.00 shillings.

Kakuzi Ltd (NSE: KUKZ) was the session’s laggard shedding off 9.39 percent to close the day at 280.00 shillings whilst ARM Cement Ltd (NSE: ARM), erased off 7.84 percent to close the day at 23.50 shillings.
