LG Electronics Appoints new MD For East, Central Africa Business

Electronics manufacturer LG has announced the appointment of Janghoon Chung, as its new managing Director in charge of East and Central Africa business.

Chung is the immediate former General Manager of LG washing machine, sales team and was based in South Korea.

His experience within LG spans over 20 years having held various positions including product manager for home appliance in Indonesia, Panama and Columbia. He  played a key role in the restructuring of LG’s subsidiaries in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. Additionally, Chung is credited for developing and implementing the three subsidiaries’ successful turnaround strategy in 20018.

He replaces Mr. Tae-ick Son who has been at the helm since 2014. He now takes up a bigger role in West Africa.

While recognizing the significant contribution of the outgoing Managing Director, Mr Cha added “We would also like to thank Mr. Son for his dedication and hard work. Son has indeed played a significant part in the development of our Kenya office as part of LG’s global presence.”
