Green Maize Retailing Highest in Mombasa and Lowest in Nakuru

An 115-kilogram bag of green maize was retailing at a market price of 8,000 shillings in Mombasa, the highest as compared to other towns where the prices ranged between 2,500 shillings and 3,750 shillings.

Dry maize, on the other hand, was being sold as follows for a 90kilogram bag: 5,200 shillings in Kisumu, 4,700 shillings in Mombasa, 4,500 shillings in Nairobi, 4,200 shillings in Malindi and 3,800 shillings in Eldoret.

Sorghum which is also available in the market was being sold highest in Eldoret, at 6,750 shillings for every 90-kilogram bag ad lowest in Mombasa at 4,500 shillings.

MAIZE

The vegetable market keeps fluctuating especially on tomato prices as the market price for a 64-kilogram bag is going at as much as 7,000 shillings in Eldoret with the lowest market price being 5,000 shillings in Malindi.

A 126-kilogram bag of cabbages was being sold as follows: 3,000 shillings in Mombasa and Malindi respectively, 2,400 shillings in Kisumu, 2,200 shillings in Eldoret, 1,800 shillings in Nairobi and 1,200 shillings in Nakuru.
