“How to acquire the smart driving license will be made in due course,” read the statement.
The new driving licenses will be fitted with electronic chips that will contain key details of a driver.

This is the second phase after the NTSA rolled out a Third Licence Sticker that bears the motor vehicle’s registration and ownership, tax, the chassis number and make, and insurance validation.
The chip technology aims to boost Kenya’s tax revenue and support the safety of the traffic network. It’s implementation will be from January 2018.
