Performance of the Commodity Market in Kenya.

A 90-kilogram bag of Sorghum was being retailed at a market price of 6,300 shillings in Eldoret and 3,150 shillings in Mombasa which was the lowest as compared to the other towns.

A 90 kilogram of Dry maize, on the other hand, was being sold as follows: 4,800 shillings in Kisumu, 4,500 shillings in Eldoret, 3,800 shillings in 3,800 shillings in Nairobi, 3,500 shillings in Mombasa, 3,200 shillings in Nakuru and 2,300 shillings in Kitale.

A 90-kilogram bag of finger millet was also in the market and was being sold as follows; 9,600 shillings in Kisumu, 9,000 shillings in Mombasa, 8,100 shillings in Eldoret, 7,800 shillings in Nairobi, 7,200 shillings in Kitale and 7,000 shillings in Nakuru.

On the legumes family, there was plenty of beans, green gram, cowpeas, groundnuts and even fresh peas in the market.

A 110-kilogram bag of groundnuts was being sold as follows: 14,300 shillings in Kitale, 12,000 shillings in Kisumu, 11,550 shillings in Mombasa, 11,250 shillings in Nairobi and Eldoret respectively and 11,000 shillings in Nakuru.

A 90-kilogram bag of Rosecoco beans, on the other hand, was retailing as follows: 10,800 shillings in Eldoret, 7,200 shillings in Nairobi and Kisumu respectively, 6,800 shillings in Mombasa, 5,500 shillings in Nakuru and 4,500 shillings in Kitale.
