Co-operative Bank of Kenya appoints John Murugu as Board Chair

Co-operative Bank of Kenya has appointed Mr. John Murugu as Chairman effect from October 1,2017.

He replaces Stanley Muchiri, who is retiring from the board.

Murugu  has been Director of The Co-operative Bank of Kenya Limited since May 27, 2015. He served as a Director of The Co-operative Bank of Kenya Limited since 2007 Until August 07, 2013.

He serves as Representative Director at IDB Capital Limited. He served as an Alternate Director for the Permanent Secretary – Treasury in Kenya Commercial Bank, Industrial Development Bank and at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

He holds a Bachelor of Education degree and Masters of Arts in Economics.
