KCB Top Mover as Umeme Takes Over as Top Gainer at NSE

Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) was the top mover of the day on Monday. The banker posted a volume of 3.06 million followed by Safaricom Limited with a volume of 2.04 million.

Co-operative Bank of Kenya, Equity Group, and CIC Insurance Group posted 1.76 million, 786,900 and 426,800 in volumes respectively.

The top gainer’s table was dominated by Umeme, Nairobi Business Ventures, Home Africa, Kenya Power, and Lighting Company and Kenya Power.

Umeme gained 9.96 percent at the price of 13.25 shillings per share. Nairobi Business Ventures followed with 9.09 percent at the price of 1.80 shillings per share. Home Africa and Kenya Power and Lighting Company gained 9.09 and 8.96 percent respectively at the prices of 1.20 and 10.95 shillings per share respectively. Kenya Airways closed the top five gainers of the day with 8.91 percent at the price of 5.50 shillings per share.

The top losers circle was ruled by Jubilee Holdings which lost 9.92 percent at the price of 445.00 shillings per share. Jubilee was followed by Williamson Tea Kenya with a loss of 6.98 percent at the price of 160.00 shillings per share.

Sameer Africa and Stanbic Holdings lost 5.26 and 2.53 percent respectively at the prices of 2.70 and 77.00 shillings per share respectively. Deacons (East Africa) closed the losers’ circle with 1.32 percent at the price of 3.75 shillings per share.
