The vocal IEBC commissioner Roselyn Akombe has resigned and fled to New York fearing for her life.
Akombe had traveled to Dubai to supervise the printing of presidential ballot papers before sending in her resignation letter and diverging her route to New York.
Earlier this week, there were rumors that at least four commissioners were planning to exit the electoral body including chair Wafula Chebukati.
Akombe’s exit now leaves the commission in limbo with barely a week to the 26th October polls.
