Umeme Closes The Week As Top Gainer Amid Political Uncertainties

Umeme was the top gainer at the Nairobi Security Exchange (NSE) on Friday with 10.00 percent at the price of 13.20 shillings per share.

Nairobi Business Ventures tied at the same position with Umeme at the price of 1.65 shillings per share followed by CIC Insurance Group with 9.80 percent at the price of 5.60 shillings per share.

Mumias Sugar Company and Uchumi Supermarket gained 9.52 and 9.38 percent respectively at the prices of 1.15 and 3.50 shillings per share respectively.

Standard Group closed the week at the top loser of the day. The company lost 2.78 percent at the price of 35.00 shillings per share. It was followed by British American Tobacco with 2.47 percent at the price of 751.00 shillings per share.

Standard Chartered Bank, Express, and National Bank lost 1.85, 1.52 and 1.03 percent respectively at the prices of 212.00, 3.25 and 9.60 shillings per share respectively.

Kenya Commercial Bank emerged as the top mover of the day. The banker posted 3.10 million followed by Equity Group with 2.00 million. Safaricom Limited and KenolKobil posted 1.83 and 1.35 million in volumes respectively while Kenya Power and Lighting Company posted 564,500 in volume.
