Call Conferencing: Telkom’s Convenient Channel of Making Calls

Telkom Kenya, the country’s third-largest telco by market share has brought about change in the communication industry in Kenya since its rebranding early this year.
The telco launched a number of products for its customers including various data bundle packages, free WhatsApp, voice and SMS services among other products.
One unique service that the company offers to its customer base is Call conferencing.
Call conferencing enables one to call several people at the same time by adding more participants to the call. This service available for prepaid customers whose phones support call conferencing.
Call Conferencing has affordable rates. Normal calling rates apply to call conferencing i.e. 2 shillings to call another Telkom number and 3 shillings per minute to other networks.
For international calls, the international call rates apply. The rate per minute is therefore multiplied by the number of people you call during the conference.
For instance, if an individual calls 2 people for 1 minute, they will be charged 2 x 2 x 1 = 4 shillings per minute. The called party B can also add at most 2 participants on the call and party B is charged for the call separately from caller A.
Call Conferencing comes along with a call waiting feature which enables one to make a telephone call and at the same time get notified of an incoming call.
An individual, therefore, have the option to place the first call on hold while answering the second call. Call waiting service is available to both prepaid and postpaid customers whose phones support the call waiting feature.
Call Conferencing can be used during a number of occasions including Business meetings, Chamas, group discussions, family meetings, friend’s gatherings among many other meetings that bring people together.
