Co-operative Bank Top Mover of the Day at the NSE

The Co-operative Bank of Kenya was the top mover of the day on Tuesday at the Nairobi Security Exchange (NSE).

The lender posted 7.53 million shares with a market capitalization of 99.45 billion followed by Safaricom Limited with 7.05 million shares and a market capital of 1.08 trillion.

Barclays Bank of Kenya and Equity Group posted 6.36 and 2.45 million shares respectively with 160.38 and 5.19 billion in terms of market capital respectively.

The Nairobi Security Exchange closed the top five movers of the day with a volume of 441,100 shares and a market capital of 5.19 billion.

On the top gainers’ table, I&M Holdings carried the day. The company gained 5.00 percent at the price of 126.00 shillings per share.

Total Kenya and Safaricom Limited gained 4.95 and 4.85 percent respectively at the price of 26.50 and 27.00 shillings per share respectively.

Co-operative Bank of Kenya seems to have had a good day at the NSE for despite being the top mover of the day, the lender also was among the top gainers of the day with 4.63 percent at the price of 16.95 shillings per share.

Mumias Sugar Company closed the top five gainers of the day at the NSE with 4.35 percent at the price of 1.20 shillings per share.

Home Afrika was the top loser of the day. The company lost 8.33 percent at the price of 1.10 shillings per share. Jubilee Holdings followed closely with a loss of 8.30 percent at the price of 453.00 shillings per share.

Limuru Tea Company and Longhorn Kenya lost 7.41 and 6.84 percent respectively at the price of 500.00 and 5.45 shillings per share respectively.

Olympia Capital closed the top losers’ circle on Tuesday with 4.29 percent at the price of 3.35 shillings per share.

The market seemed stable today as the political temperature in the country settles.
